Fever (1956) and I'm Shaking (1960)

You guys, I have a flu. No witty repartee today.
Little Willie John wrote this song, not Peggy Lee . . .

. . .  feel like i've been run through the mill, I can't seem to move and I can't stand still . . .

Omg. I've got it too. Started yesterday.

You didnt touch anything over at my blog did you?? I probably had germs all over the place. Sorry, feel better soon.

Hope you & peedee feel better soon! Does it help that it's the weekend? Well, I guess technically it's not THE WEEKEND until 5:00 or so, but I took the day off so what do I know?

My mom had a live Peggy Lee album (you know, that thing where you play it with a needle? And if you change the speed it's all hilarious?) with Fever on it - pretty good stuff!

Drink plenty of fluids--no need to chug--just lots of sips

acetamenophen or ibuprofen for fever, aches

Bedrest until no fever without medicine

and of, course, plenty of prayers and good wishes from friends!

Feel better soon!

Oh Ann T I was going to suggest those tissues! I love them! I use them at the gym when I can't breath!
Feel better soon!

Dear Gia,
I love them. I think it's all about nostalgia. You know nostalgia is linked to a sense of smell.

Now huffing mentholatum,

I'd never heard the original of 'Fever' before!
Love the Peggy Lee version though.
Madonna's - not so much.

Some of the oldies were excellent!

Dear Aurora,
I'm so glad you liked these! It's time to bring the oldies back, in multi-cultural array this time. Motown didn't spring out of nothing.

I also love Peggy Lee. This one, and, "Is That All there Is" are my favorites of hers.

Thanks for writing in!
