Honest Comments Solicited

I changed my template, not for change's sake--but because I thought the 'Scribe' template was a little too narrow. If this is unreadable, boring, or something of that nature,
or if you liked the old one better, let me know.

I may still like the old one better myself.

Maybe a darker color for the posts? That's all I can think of for now.

Have you looked at the video on PoliceOneDaily "Dog bites squad car, must attend classes." If you haven't yet, you must. You will ROFL.

Working on budding flowers next...

Very victoian. Nice. Your title font doesn't match the background though. Still, I like it.

Very "Fleur de Lis" French flavored or maybe Royal Spanish heritage? or even the House of Bourbon? Either way, a sign of spring, no? I actually prefer the burgandy color in the header! Change is always good, Ann T. I prefer to use the word evolve when making changes........
Have a great day!

As Gia said... "evolving"... or as I might say, trying to find my comfort zone and myself.

I like the tabs at the top... makes your "gang studies" much more available. The background - I rather liked what you had previously, it felt to me "more you", but I don't know you personally, so that's just me.

This template seems less original... less you...

Keep the tabs and build more.

Dear BobKat,
I think you have exactly described how I feel about this. For all it is 'customized' it doesn't feel very individual.

Months ago, I tried to expand the parchment column in the old one to accommodate more items. I could almost do it, but the parchment underlay wouldn't resize.

It seemed more scholarly. This seems more boutique-ey. On the other hand, this is more open. I am still thinking about what to do.

I may figure something good out, or I may go back. Because I don't think it has as much personality the way it is now . . .

Thanks for the comment,
Ann T.

Dear Gia,
Still evolving. . . .

I like this ones "archeological" feel
I can almost peel back the center to see the "writing on the wall!"

I really like the background a lot. And the rest is fine - although you're right about it not seeming as personalized for some reason.

I think I'd like a library wall done just like that background. If I had a library.

I like it. Myself, I like my dark background and white text... I could envision this quite attractive with a darker center with the parchment background.

Wow, everybody.
Thanks for all the help and encouragement. I also have to thank The Bug for spurring me to it. Her blog went from fall to spring in a heartbeat! Very sunshine!

So, I started over with a different template. I hated the tabs and the rounded corners on the other one. This is better, I think. I even edited some CSS, they had shadows all around the pictures and I took it out. (!)

This looks a little more like the old one but with a more open feel. Still a little corporate but I think I can make it work for now.

Also, I am tired of screwing with it. LOL.

P.S. BobKat, I never have any trouble Reading dark field/light letters, but it just doesn't seem right to me for my writing.

But your comments were spot on how i felt about how it was going.

Thanks to you,
and to everyone for support!

It's changed again!

I like the colors, and it is easy to read.

Am I allowed to say that I find the boxes against the contrasting background a little busy?

Fooling with the blog is almost impossible to resist. I made my font bigger last night, and bolded the title.

The Observer, wondering if there will be more changes...

Dear The Observer,
Floating Sidebar or Wonky Tabs? Obviously I need to learn CSS because I am still not satisfied. It could be that lighter background would make the sidebar less distracting.

The other thing, the parchment now makes me think people will think this is a Bible study blog.

But I'm sure they will figure out that mistake almost immediately.

Sitting pat for now, but you never know--

I like the wider template. That has always been an issue with me. I believe that this is going to work well for you.

Good Luck Ann T.

Dear Captain Schmoe,
Thank you! I think this is readable and open--I loved the statement Scribe seemed to make, but it was always a little too cramped.

I believed I was done, and now I am sure.

The template is simpler and easier to read, but it is a little cold and clinical. It needs a little more of you.

Dear RD,
That continues to be the sticky wicket. I think it needs a picture. And maybe something else!

Thanks for weighing in,
Ann T.
