"If" by Rudyard Kipling

It's all good, except I don't want to be a man if I accomplish all this. :-)
Harvey Keitel gives a good reading of this very important poem.

Another blogger posted this poem this week along with pictures of her son who is graduating from high school. VERY powerful. Here's the link if you want to check it out: http://shannon354.blogspot.com/2010/05/wednesday.html.

Ann:
Now THAT takes me back to 4th grade (1961 - G.L. Horn School, Philly), when we all had to memorize and present a short poem...
I chose THIS one.

And it was as good choice THEN...as it is now.

(and havings Holst's The Planets/Jupiter played in the background of THIS video doesn't hurt one darn bit, either).

Thanks for reminding me.
(I needed it)

Dear The Bug,
That is a lovely post by your friend!
Thanks for stopping in!

Dear Bob,
That's not a terribly short poem, so it must have resonated strongly with you even then.

I ran into it in high school and have loved it ever since.

Thank you,
Ann
