Reflecting on what I learn, including the stuff that's whack--
Ann:Did you post that ROSEBUD sign as an homage to Orson Welles?(shades of Citizen Kane)And that second sign just HAS to be a SHOE REPAIR sign. That seems to be a dying trade...used to have them all over, and those people could make old shoes look brand new again.Very nice (and nostalgic) post..Have a great weekend.
Ann T:Love the neon lights! You don't see them as much anymore as you used to. Nice shots! The Observer
Dear Bob,Thanks for stopping in! Yes, I always think of this as Citizen Kane's liquor store, LOL. We great minds, you know. And it is indeed the shoe repair. There aren't that many. All the dry cleaners have a drop-off and you get them the next week. Recently I found a shop though, and plan to go . . . I hope your weekend has been great so far.Sincerely,Ann T.
Dear The Observer,I too, love Neon. It is definitely a dying art. I find that most of them belong to liquor stores, so I have an inordinate number of shots for them. There are of course only so many ways one can photograph a beer sign before losing one's mind, but hey. Mine is already gone, and beer had nuttin' to do with it!LOL,Ann T.
