Miss Ellen's Whirlwind Trip Through Asia

For my birthday, that darling two-wheeled Miss Ellen received yet more bling: headlights, tail-lights, and More Air.  Thus, we were out and about when the sun went down.

Really, the worst thing about travel with Miss Ellen is that she never wants to stop and eat anywhere.

Note: The pictures from Japan did Not Turn Out.

That Miss Ellen is a pistol - & a hard taskmaster! I'm glad she got some more bling for your birthday. You be careful out there after dark though - you hear?

I love neon signs. They seemed to fall out of favor for a while, but came back in the '90s. As they are such a regular fixture in our nocturnal lives, we often don't notice their aesthetic qualities.

Oddly enough, I haven't really tried to photograph any, after being inspired by this, I just may give it a shot.

Thanks for the post.

What a diverse area! I would have to take turns eating at each one as I love Asian food, from everywhere! Does there happen to be a Sushi bar close by also? Ahh Miss Ellen needs to learn to stop and taste the faire! But she does get kudos for being out after dark!

Thank you!

Dear Gia,
There is sushi here, and I Do love sushi. I also love really hot Thai food.
Thank you for stopping by! It is amazing how rich and varied everything is, isn't it?

Dear Captain Schmoe,
Thanks for a little history on neon. I wondered why so much of it is modern--if so, why not more?

I hope you enjoy your evening forays. I think it transforms a lot of ugly buildings into magic at night.

You and Miss Ellen, prowling the neon jungles...I love it.

Very nice pictures (as always).
Such a cornucopia of eateries.

You (two) stay safe out there!

Annie, you mustn't keep these things from me. I LOVE celebrating other peoples birthdays.

So Happy Birthday then.

Dear peedee,
Uh-oh! Well, I actually wrote a huge long post about it on the day, July 2. You were on your way to Oklahoma.

And a friend took me to dinner that night, so I was good to go! That was a heck of a lot more than usual, which makes me think life is improving. And we had a VERY nice time. Great conversation and the best salad I've ever eaten--not to mention, salmon--and then gelato afterward.

Thank you!
