Mysterious Flowers, Again

Okay, these shots will never win me the Pulitzer. But I have never before seen this flower or its like. Nobody seems to know what they are. So these shots are without perspective, just trying to get as much information as possible. The stem branches out in umbrella-spokes, and this branch is covered by tiny leaves, almost like scales, and then topped by the flower corolla.

Those five-part leaves you see below this fairy-head are the leaves below the branch-out. Totally weird! And gorgeous.

More significant post below--food for thought as well as wonders for the eye.  Have a great weekend!

hmmmmmm, not sure what it is. There is another famous 5 leaf plant out there but this isnt it. Unless its a hybrid but I doubt it. ;)

Very pretty. And a heck of a lot nicer than the zombie picture you had up before :) I have no clue what they are, but they sure are nice.

This is called a cleome.
(wifey reminded me...glad I keep her around...LOL)

Here's the WIKI:

Got a real "interesting", pungent smell.
We tried growing them...didn't work, even THEY don't like this neighbrohood much...ROFL.

Have a great weekend.

Dear Yellow,
Sorry about yesterday! Neither the condo board nor the zombies are pretty stuff!

When I first got on the Board, I was doing fun stuff like remodeling the deck. Now it's all about machine parts. Whoops! They got me!

Thanks for hanging in,
Ann T.

Dear Bob,

Thank you Very Much! I loved them and wanted to be able to track them down.

And now I will go back for better pix, too!

Thanks a million! Have a great weekend! I hope your garden plays a great sanctuary over the next couple of days.

I dont know what they are either - but they sure are pretty! They look like something out of the movie AVATAR!

I knew they looked familiar - my dad has some in his yard. I just took a couple of pictures. He said they were cleome too - but they also call them cat's whiskers. Amy says they'll take over if you aren't careful. I've always called them Dr. Seuss flowers :)

I'm glad someone knew what they were--they are really cool looking. I wonder if they'd grow here...

Thanks for the photos--they made me smile. (-:

Glad Bob answered the flower question--I had no idea. The Mrs. is the green thumb around here and I am the dumb muscle--well the muscle is lacking these days so just the dumb guy with the shovel.

Have a super weekend as well.

Dear meleah,
I was captivated by them too! And very science fiction, I agree . . .
or . . .

Dear The Bug,
For sure, cat-in-the-hat!!

Thanks you two!

Dear Slamdunk,
I can't believe how many of my questions get answered here. It's just amazing!

And hey! Think highly of yourself! Flowers are just not your department!
